Ancestral Futures: Water, Wealth and Wisdom in a World on Fire
This week, the UK will host a rare and profound gathering of three of the Amazon’s most revered Indigenous leaders: Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, Ailton Krenak, and Adana Omagua Kambeba. Carriers of ancestral wisdom, spiritual knowledge, and deep ecological understanding, these leaders represent cultures rooted in harmonious relationship with the Earth for millennia.
Tribal Link Foundation collaborated with Global Canopy who produce this two-day series of public and private events in Oxford and London is part of a broader journey by global Indigenous leaders who are sharing their visions for ecological balance, human resilience, and planetary healing.
Tribal Link — a longtime advocate for Indigenous self-determination and knowledge transmission — is proud to support and co-organize this historic moment of intercultural dialogue and alliance-building. With decades of experience working directly with communities across the Amazon Basin and beyond, Tribal Link’s collaboration ensures that the voices of Indigenous guardians are centered, respected, and amplified.
The program includes a ceremonial Water Pilgrimage in Oxford on July 8, followed by an intimate afternoon of dialogue at Saïd Business School: Listening to the Earth, where the Indigenous leaders will reflect on paths to restoration in an era of crisis. On July 9 in London, they will speak with key UK policymakers and environmental journalists, culminating in the public event Ancestral Futures: Water, Wealth and Wisdom in a World on Fire at the Wellcome Collection.
These gatherings will also be enriched by the presence of renowned Brazilian scientist Antonio Nobre, whose pioneering research on the Amazon’s “flying rivers” connects science with Indigenous ecological knowledge.
This is not just a series of events — it is a call to listen, to remember, and to act. Tribal Link invites all allies, students, scientists, artists, and citizens to engage with the wisdom of the Amazon and recommit to the collective responsibility of planetary stewardship.
